AP Registration Information

Advanced Placement Courses:

  • AP® courses are college-level courses offered in high school.
  • Courses reflect what is taught in top introductory college courses.
  • Students take AP Exams at the end of the course, measuring their mastery of college-level materials.
  • A score of 3 or higher on an AP Exam can typically earn students college credit and/or placement into an advanced  courses in college. 
  • Taught by trained high school instructors.
  • No tuition.
  • Students must meet pre-requisites. 
  • Students are encouraged to take a national standardized test in the spring.
  • To receive college credit, you must achieve a minimum passing score on the AP exam.
  • The AP exam fee: $97.00. Fee Waivers/reductions are available through ACCESS College Foundation/Suffolk Education Foundation for those who qualify.
  • Additional rigor beyond honors and regular courses.
  • College-level content to help prepare for college-level classes.
  • Challenging to help prepare for Dual Enrollment courses.
  • College-prep materials spread over a year as opposed to a semester in Dual Enrollment.

 

Advanced Placement Classes available:

English: English Language and Composition, English Literature and  Composition 

History and Social Sciences: United States Government and Politics,  United States History, World History:Modern, Psychology 

Mathematics: Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, AP Computer  Science Principles 

Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics 1:  Algebra-based
