Calling all 10th and 11th graders: The CTE Non-Traditional Extravaganza Trip for 10th and 11th graders is Thursday, February 15. This trip will allow students the opportunity to meet and interact with professionals in non-traditional occupations in the Suffolk and Hampton Roads business communities. Snacks will be provided. See your English or CTE teacher ASAP for an interest form and permission slip. Remember that those going on the trip must be dressed professionally. No sneakers or jeans will be allowed so plan to dress for success.

Super Senior Ad Sale: 1/4 page yearbook ads are on sale this week only for $50.00.  Don’t forget to get your ad!

Students who bought a parking pass but did NOT return (or fill out) a yellow Vehicle registration card are to see Coach Young ASAP or risk losing your parking spot. We still have a number of students parking on campus who have not bought a parking pass. You are running this risk of being towed as ALL parking spots have been sold. There are no more parking spaces available on campus.

Congratulations to our JV Boys’ Basketball team for their 88-80 win over Indian River on Friday. Our Boys’ basketball teams will travel to Lakeland tomorrow night and Lakeland will come here on Wednesday.

Varsity Boys’ basketball practice will be 3:15 pm today, and JV practice will be at 5:30 pm.

Beta Club will be selling teddy grams all this week in the cafeteria. Cost is $2.00 for a teddy bear and $3.00 for a teddy bear and gram.

The Chess Club will NOT meet today.

The FBLA fundraising club will be meeting on Monday, February 5 from 3:15 – 4:15 pm to discuss upcoming fundraising events. If you have any questions, please see Amia Gray or Mrs. Kemp.

Attention all FBLA members: The February Chapter Meeting will be Monday, February 5 at 3:10 pm in Ms. Rountree’s room. All members are encouraged to attend to discuss upcoming events and competition details. Students are responsible for their own transportation.

Seniors: Cap & Gown pictures will be taken at Nansemond River on February 22nd and 23rd. Sign up in the Front Office beginning Monday, February 5, 2018.

Yearbooks are selling quickly. If you want your name on your yearbook, Itag order need to be placed by February 25.

The College and Career Academy at Pruden will have an Open House on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.

Attention Seniors: If you have not completed your FAFSA, the February 19th deadline is quickly approaching. Please see Mrs. Foster Monday or Tuesday or send her an email  to to set up an appointment.

On Thursday, February 1, AFJROTC will begin raising money for the H2O project.  All students and staff, as well as outside organizations, are asked to donate. The money will be used to build bathrooms and hand washing stations for an elementary school in Kenya. Donations will be taken until February 28.

The National Honor Society will meet on Monday, February 5 to organize the book collection drive. Please plan to attend.

Come out and join the “Relay for Life” Club to learn about ways to fundraiser for the big event that will be held at NRHS in May. The meetings will be held every other Monday at 3:10 pm. Our next meeting is Monday, February 5.

ASVAB Testing has been rescheduled to Wednesday, February 7.
