NR LogoCongratulations to the Indoor Track team for their accomplishments and amazing stats in Maryland this weekend.
* Girls' 4x200m relay team consisting of Kori Carter, Tre'Breh Scott-McKoy, Lauryn Freeman and Brene Donaldson broke the meet record and are currently US #1 with a time of 1:39.97.
* Kori Carter now ranks #2 in the US with a time of 7.93 in the 55m hurdles. Lauryn Freeman is #6 in the US with a time of 8.00, and Tre'Breh Scott-McKoy is #12 in the US with a time of 8.10.
* Aaron Groggins, in his first year as a short hurdler, is #34 in the state with a time of 8.09.
* Kevin Johnson is now #5 in the state of Virginia and #29 in the US after running a time of 35.30 in the 300m dash.

Congratulations to Coach Leighton and our NRHS Scholastic Bowl team for qualifying to compete in the Region 5A Scholastic Bowl Tournament. The Warriors will compete on Saturday, January 19 at Kecoughtan High School.

Any student that has a work hour and does not leave MUST be with a teacher. Any student found in the halls during their work hour will lose their work hour and be assigned to a study hall and/or be considered trespassing.

Today we are celebrating Custodian Appreciation Day! We would like to thank the custodians for all they do for us each day.

Attention Class of 2019: Are you in need of the Writing and/or Reading SOL for verified credit? Thomas Nelson Community College will be offering the Workkeys Business Writing and Workplace Document test on February 11 and 12, 2019. The school will provide transportation. Testing will start at 10:00 am. The bus will leave NRHS at 8:45 am. The deadline to pay is Wednesday, January 23, 2019. The Reading test is $17.00; the Writing test is $30.00. You may register in Guidance with Mrs. Lascano. Space is limited and is on a first come, first served basis. Fifteen seats are available for each test date. For more information, see Mrs. Lascano in the Guidance Office.

The Nansemond River GSA will be meeting Wednesday, January 9 after school in the Chorus Room until 4:15 pm. All are invited.  Make sure you have a ride home.

JROTC is collecting money to send to Haiti. It will benefit school children and provide them with uniforms and food. Please help us reach our goal of $900. Donate before school in the ROTC hallway or during lunches on Tuesday and Thursday.

JROTC is having a Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, January 15. Those willing to donate must sign up in the JROTC hallway between 8:00 - 8:15 am Tuesday - Thursday this week.

The ASVAB test will be given to Juniors and Seniors on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Testing will begin at 8:30 am and end at approximately 11:45 am. Testing will take place in the library.
