NR LogoOur athletes from the Nansemond River Track Club competed as Team WAR at the high school national championships. Team WAR had a good showing and once again represented the school, the city and the team well. We returned with four All-American honors and one national championship. The relay team of Kori Carter, Tre'-Breh Scott-McKoy, Brene' Donaldson, and Lauryn Freeman 1st overall and brought back the National Championship in the Girls' 4x200 meter relay with their time of 1:37.94, it became the 6th fastest time in school history. Our history is a follows in the Girls' 4x200 meter relay: 2016 National Champions, 2017 National Champions, 2018 National Runner-ups, and 2019 National Champions. 

Yearbooks are selling quickly. If you missed your chance to have your name engraved, you have until Friday to order an I-tag for your yearbook. Only 93 yearbooks are left.

Attention Class of 2019: Are you in need of the Writing and/or Reading SOL for Verified Credit? Thomas Nelson Community College will be offering the Workkeys Business Writing and Workplace Document test on April 1 and April 2, 2019. The deadline to pay is Friday, March 22, 2019. Register in Guidance with Mrs. Lascano.
- Workplace Document (reading) $17.00 - Test Date Monday, April 1, 2019
- Business Writing $30.00 - Test Date Tuesday, April 2, 2019

Outdoor Track will have their first day of Spring Tryouts on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 on the track at 3:25 pm.

Reminder: no deliveries will be accepted for students. Students are not to have food or other items delivered to school. Deliveries will be turned away.

The DnD Club will meet on Wednesday, March 13 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. Please have your own ride home.

JROTC is collecting donations for H2O for Life to help school children in Uganda. Your donation will be used for constructing a water well. Cadets will be collecting money in the morning in the JROTC Hallway and on Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch. The goal is to reach $2500.

Seniors: The ACCESS College Foundation Scholarships are now available. You can locate the scholarship application on the ACCESS College website (www.accesscollege.org) or pick up a copy of the application from the Guidance Office. Please see your ACCESS Advisor, Ms. Harvin, for more information.


Paul D. Camp Community College is hosting a CTE Exploration Day for high school Seniors on April 26 from 9:30 am - 2:00 pm. If you are a senior that is interested in PDCCC and would like to attend, please pick up a field trip permission form from the Main Office. Please return the signed permission form to the Main Office as soon as possible. 

Attention Seniors: Come celebrate your college acceptance with ACCESS College Foundation and Shaggy from Z104! The celebration will be held at Ted Constant Center on April 30, 2019. To attend, you must be accepted into at least one college/university or community college, have completed the FAFSA, and provide your ACCESS Advisor with one financial aid award letter and a copy of your FAFSA student aid report before the trip. You will receive a free t-shirt, and lunch is included. Please see your ACCESS advisor, Ms. Harvin, for the permission slip.
