Town Hall Meeting 3-5-18

Sleepy Hole Borough and Nansemond Borough representatives on the Suffolk School Board are hosting a town hall meeting on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Creekside Elementary School from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. At the request of board members David Mitnick and Judith Brooks-Bucks, presentations about rezoning proposals and school schedule changes now before the School Board will be shared.

Come one, come all! Step right up and join the fun! The CTE Department Carnival is coming to Nansemond River HS Cafeteria on Thursday, February 22. There will be games, fun and more. The festivities will be held during all four lunch shifts.

Teachers, students, faculty and staff: You are all invited to attend Nansemond River’s African American History Month program on Friday, February 23 at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium. Come out and see our students show their talents. Featured performers are the NRHS Jazz band, NRHS Gospel Choir, NRHS Marching Band and speaker Dr. Wayne Faison. You can get your free tickets from Ms. Beverly, Ms. Porter and Mr. Woodis.

Please prepare a one minute piece that includes singing; your song choice should preferably be a Disney song but does not have to be. Part of your audition may be a monologue, but you must sing. Auditions are open to the entire school. If you have any questions, please see Dr. Neighbours.

Senior Cap & Gown pictures are Thursday, February 22 and Friday, February 23. Sign up in the Main Office.

Attention E-Sports Club members: we will have a meeting on Tuesday, February 27 in room 114 from 3:15 – 4:45 pm. Prior to the meeting, if you are planning to bring your console, it is important for you to contact Mrs. Kemp before Tuesday. If you have any further questions, please see Mrs. Kemp in room 114.

AP Testing will take place in May! This is a reminder that AP request for financial assistance forms are due to Mrs. Lascano in Guidance by Friday, February 16. Turn in your form if you are requesting a fee waiver for free/reduced lunch. Access Foundation fee assistance or Suffolk Education Foundation financial assistance.

There will be a Prom Committee meeting in room 228 Tuesday, February 20 at 3:15 pm. Please have your ride scheduled for 3:45 pm.

Come join us for our first Relay for Life Club meeting on Monday, February 19 at 3:15 pm in Mr. Lawson’s room 129. We will plan fundraising events within the school to prepare for the big event held in May at Arrowhead Stadium.

Yearbooks are selling quickly. If you want your name on your yearbook, Itag order need to be placed by February 25.

The College and Career Academy at Pruden will have an Open House on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.

Vote Elijah Williams for SN-H’s Player of the Week!

SNH Player of the WeekCongratulations to Elijah Williams, Varsity Wrestling team member! He is a nominee for the Suffolk News-Herald’s Player of the Week.

Elijah won the regional championship title at 145 lbs.
