Thanksgiving Break

Happy Thanksgiving!

Suffolk Public Schools will release early on Wednesday, November 22 and will be closed on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Early release for high schools is 12:25 pm.

The Varsity Football team will be playing for the 5A East Regional Championship on Friday, November 25 at Salem High School in Virginia Beach. Game time is $7.00. Tickets are being sold online at https://gofan.co/app/events/18946. Come out and support our Warrior football team!

Congratulations to our top turkeys:  1st place – Hannah Ramey; 2nd place – Aniston Waldo; 3rd place – Whitney Craig.  Congratulations to all who participated.  Check the display to see the top 20 Hand Turkeys.

The National Honor Society: Any member who has not completed the 1st Quarter Service Log needs to see Mrs. Murray before leaving for Thanksgiving break.

Students: If you are interested in the 2018 Summer Residential Academies, don’t forget to sign up online. The deadline is deadline is December 14, 2017.

Students that were notified that they will be retesting the week of week of November 28 are reminded that they should be taking advantage of after school tutoring.

The Science Club will be collecting plastic bags from November 6 through the end of March. Please bring the bags to room 219. Thanks for your past support!

Seniors:  Please send us a copy of all college acceptance letters and military enlistment documents. We want to celebrate with you and add you to our “Warrior Wall!”

The Science Club will be meeting on Tuesday, November 21 at 3:10 pm in room 219. New members are welcome. You may need a jacket for the outdoor activity. You must have your own transportation home.

FBLA will be hosting a Turkey Bowling event on Monday, November 20 and Tuesday, November 21 during all lunch blocks. Bring $1.00 for a chance to bowl a frozen turkey. If you are able to knock all of the pins down, your name will go into a drawing at the end of the day to win a $15.00 gift card. Come out and support the FBLA.

Vote Gerard Stringer for SN-H’s Player of the Week!

SNH Player of the WeekCongratulations to Gerard Stringer, Varsity Football player!  He is a nominee for the Suffolk News-Herald’s Player of the Week.

Gerard had 187 yards rushing and added two touchdowns in the Warriors’ 35-21 regional semifinal win over Indian River High School.

Vote by 7 p.m. Wednesday by sending an email with the subject “Player of the Week” to sports@suffolknewsherald.com.
